“Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life." - 1 Timothy 6:18-19
How much good does your money do? It would be interesting for many of us to layout a type of “spiritual balance sheet” to measure our wealth by the good that it does in Jesus eyes. Obviously you have the provision for your own family which is a good thing. But what do you invest in bringing your family closer to Christ? How faithful are you in your generosity to the work of Christ through your local church? If you have employees then I would see that as providing a wage by which they can take care of their families. I’m not saying you can’t do fun things with your money, but how balanced is your “spiritual balance sheet”?
