"But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.” 1 Timothy 6:9-10
Verse 10 here is a verse that is often misquoted. It does not say money is the “root” of all kinds of evil, but love is the “root”. Love is a powerful thing. Depending on where you direct your love, it can bless you or bring you into ruin and destruction. I believe we have to continually hold ourselves accountable that we haven’t fallen in love with our money. Instead of loving your money, love what God can do with your money as you honor Him and invest in life changing things.
